Connections: The Nature of Networks
Networks are everywhere and serve as a great tool for teaching science, mathematics, social studies and more. Connections utilizes state-of-the-art technology to explore the new science of networks. A spider’s web is a complex network and a river with its unstructured branches actually demonstrates a so-called emergent network.
Connections will teach visitors about the differences, and similarities between a planned, man-made network and an emergent network, a natural network existing in nature. State-of-the-art technology lets visitors investigate how the World Wide Web is like a real spider’s web, or how a school cafeteria can been seen as a school of fish.
