If you can’t see it, how do you know it’s there? You can’t see the wind. But you can see the trees swaying, the effect of the wind, and so you know it’s there. The atom is described as the basic building block” of all matter. Atoms make up everything in the world, everything in the universe. Millions of times smaller than a speck of dust, it is too small to see except under exceptional circumstances and experimental situations. But you can see the effects of atoms.
