Science Technology Library
The Science Technology Library (STL) of the New York Hall of Science is located in the newly built North Wing. We offer visitors a multi-media collection of 10,000+ items for children, families, adults and educators. All museum members have borrowing privileges.
With books, videos, CD-Roms, DVDs and periodicals focused on science and technological studies, the STL is an excellent resource for visitors who want more information about the exhibits on the museum floor, need help with science fair projects, or who are just plainly curious about topics in science.
Educators also find a home in the STL. Our collection of 1500+ items includes lesson plans, activities, curriculum standards and much more.
Other features of the STL include a Pre-school reading area, Media Center, Children’s Books, Adult Books, Reference, Biographies, Science Experiments and Fiction. For a complete look at our collection visit our online catalogue at http://NYHS.sirsi.net.
Members can explore hands-on science at home with our Science Activity Kits (SAKS). Each kit has everything you need to conduct 3-4 fun and easy science activities at home. Click here for a full list of SAKS topics and information on renting one.
The library also offers special programming for families on the weekends: Science Story Time hosted every Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm and Science Video Time at 3:30 pm. And if you have a pre-schooler, please join us on weekdays for our pre-school story time at 11:00 am in the library.
