Science Clubs

After-School Science Clubs

Are your children sitting in front of the TV or computer after school? Do they need help with their homework? Would you like to provide them with an interesting experience one day a week to meet new people, engage in innovative science activities and become intimately familiar with the Hall?

Consider the Young Explorers Club for students in Grades K-4 and the Digimania Club for students in Grades 5-8.

These clubs are popular programs among the local students that are designed to provide students with ongoing thematic experiences in science, excite them about science and related careers, and also help them with science content and learning.

Club themes change every semester and many students choose to enroll year after year, eventually becoming club captains, and then applying for paid Explainer positions at the Hall.

Camps are taught by Instructors and assisted by Explainers, paid high school and college students. Camps accommodate up to 30 students providing a student: staff ratio of 5:1.

All club sessions run from 3:30 - 6:30 pm. Students begin the session by receiving homework help followed by snack time. Afterwards, students spend two hours engaged in science experimentation and activity. Below are general descriptions for each semester.
