Innovation Camps

The Hall offers programs for students in grades K-8 allowing participants to investigate a variety of science topics and exercise their communication, public speaking skills and when possible, promote mathematics and literacy. Week-long programs or weekly one-day sessions are available. All programs are designed to ensure a high teacher-to-student ratio to enable small group work. All programs are correlated to New York City Science Performance standards.

Schools Out! Innovation Camps 

What do you get when you put together hands-on exhibits, personalized attention from qualified Hall instructors, and loads and loads of fun science activities? You get exciting Innovation camps for students conducted during the summer and vacation weeks for students in Grades K-8.

The Hall offers a variety of themes for different grades throughout the year. Students explore concepts in science, technology and engineering through carefully designed curriculum and exhibit investigations.

Camps are taught by Instructors and assisted by Explainers, paid high school and college students. Camps accommodate up to 30 students providing a student: staff ratio of 5:1.

Fees cover all materials, staffing and food. There is an additional $25 discount for siblings who enroll from the same family.

Science of Magic
Become a magician's apprentice as you get a private tour of our special exhibition, Magic: the Science of Illusion.  Explore the world of illusion and trickery while creating your own magic tricks and science illusions.

Gemology and Mineralogy
What do a diamond and a piece of coal have in common?  Use the tools of a mineralogist and the artistry of a gemologist to identify minerals and gems and use them to make pieces of art and jewelry.

Spy School
Become a real "Spy-Kid" and learn about the tools that spies use for their missions. Go on a secret mission and de-code messages and solve a mystery.
