Follow Your Nose to Sense of Smell Day
3-30-07

Queens, N.Y.- Fun is right under your nose during National Sense of Smell Day at the New York Hall of Science. On April 29 from 12:30 – 4:30 pm, stick your nose into activities that help make sense of your everyday sniff. Visitors will learn how their nose works and how important their sense of smell is in their everyday life.

Hands-on activities will include:

  • Animal Nose Masks- Reunite noses with the animals they belong to, learning smelly facts along the way. Color your own animal nose mask to take home.
  • Geography of Perfume- Ever wonder where the exotic scents that go into perfumes come from? Smell some exotic fragrances and find out where in the world they come from.
  • Stop and Smell the Memories- Take a walk down memory lane; learn about the powerful connection between your sense of smell and your memories.

Sense of Smell Day is sponsored by the Sense of Smell Institute. The Hall is one of many museums across the country hosting National Sense of Smell Day events. For more information about Sense of Smell Day, please call 718.699.0005 ext. 381.
