Frosted Flakes: Take a “Snow Day” at the New York Hall of Science

Queens, N.Y. – Even before the first snowflake falls this winter, you can get knee-deep in wintry fun during Crystal Winter at the New York Hall of Science. Every weekend in December and January, plus December 26 – 29, visitors can take their pick from a flurry of fun and educational activities that explore the amazing world of ice crystals. Crystal Winter activities are sponsored by Astoria Federal Savings.

Crystal Winter Program Events

Activities are included with admission unless otherwise noted.

Crystal Film Festival
Watch different videos about snowflakes, gems and glasswork.

Winter Sky Constellation Show
Weekends, 11 am & 4 pm

Make-it & Take-it Activities
11 am – 5:45 pm
Ages 6 and older
$2 - 2.50 per participant

Geode Activity Session
1:30 & 3:30 pm
Ages 6 and older
$3 per participant

Snowflake Illustration Activity Session
4:30 pm
Ages 6 and older

Jelly…Fish? Puppet Show

Underwater Craft Projects
