Forecast: Brainstorm! A Brainy Celebration at the New York Hall of Science
2-21-07

Queens, N.Y. – A brainstorm is headed for the New York Hall of Science with the forecast calling for a 100% chance of fun and learning during the Hall’s Brain Awareness Celebration, 12:30 – 4:30 pm on March 17 and 18. Celebrate Brain Awareness Week by making a brain hat, taking a memory challenge, solving brainteasers and more. Kids and adults can explore what brains do and how they work with fun, hands-on activities that demonstrate, among other things, what areas of the brain control movement, senses and memories.

Brain Awareness Celebration
March 17 & 18

12:30 - 4:30 pm

Activities:

  • We have two Brains? Which brain do you use the most, your right or left-brain? Take this fun interactive quiz to find out why you are a math whiz or a budding artist.
  • Sheep’s Brain Dissection Watch a sheep’s brain dissection. How does it compare to a human brain? Learn more about the parts of the brain and the functions they control.
  • Thinking Caps What’s on your mind? Create a paper brain hat to show everyone what you’re thinking about and wear it home.
  • Memory Challenge The brain controls many things including how we store and recall memories. Play our memory challenge to learn more about how your mind works.
  • Topology Puzzles Use your mind to solve these tricky brainteasers… the solution is not always what may seem to be.
