Lifelong Learners: The Hall Offers Exciting Parent-Child Adventures
12-14-07

QUEENS, N.Y. - As another new year begins, make a resolution to help your child discover the wonder of science. Parents and children can explore the world around them while spending valuable time together in the New York Hall of Science’s Preschool Family Adventures program. With hands-on activities, creative experiments, and opportunities to explore the Hall and the popular Preschool Place, Family Adventures is a unique and exciting opportunity for children and adults to learn and play together.
This winter, the Hall invites families to make life an adventure in the Do It Yourself! program series. Preschoolers and their parents will find the music in everyday life in January’s Let’s Make Music program, where they’ll experiment with sound, turn ordinary household items into unique rhythm instruments, and make a one-of-a-kind shaker out of recycled materials.
The excitement continues in February as preschoolers become paleontologists and go on a fossil hunt for dinosaur bones in a Dinosaur Dig. After learning about these fantastic creatures, children will be able to make their own dinosaur puppet to take home.
March’s Measuring Me brings us back to the present and invites children to turn their bodies into rulers to explore big and small all over the Hall. The fun and learning continues at home as they create a measuring tool as big as they are to use everywhere they go.
Help your child take her or his first steps toward a lifelong love of science and learning by signing up for the Hall’s Preschool Family Adventures today! Programs last approximately one hour. To register, please call 718.699.0005 ext. 348.
