New Preschool Family Adventures Announced for Spring 2008
3-30-08

QUEENS, N.Y. - Celebrate the start of spring by exploring the flowering world around you with the New York Hall of Science’s Preschool Family Adventures program. With hands-on activities, creative experiments, and opportunities to explore the Hall and the popular Preschool Place, Family Adventures is a unique and exciting opportunity for children (6 and younger) and adults to learn and play together.

This spring,  the Hall invites families to make life an adventure with the Spring Fever! program series. During April's Under the Ground, preschoolers and their parents will find out how worms and other amazing creatures can live underground. Then they’ll make their own wiggly worm puppet to take home.

The excitement continues in May with Fluttering Butterflies, where preschoolers and their parents can find out what happens to caterpillars when they grow up. They'll explore the life cycle of a butterfly and make a pair of beautiful wings to wear home.

Bird songs are in the air! June’s Sing Like a Bird encourages children to join the chorus and looks at how birds use their songs. Find out what makes each bird song so special and then craft your own squeaking sparrow.

Help your child take her or his first steps toward a lifelong love of science and learning by signing up for the Hall’s Preschool Family Adventures today! Programs last approximately one hour. To register, please call 718.699.0005 ext. 348. Download a registration form
