Celebrate a New York winter tradition! Explore the science of snow crystals with these winter wonderland events during the New York Hall of Science's annual Crystal Winter.

Giant Snow Globe
Step inside the Giant Winter Snow Globe, a fanciful winter landscape of crystals and ice. Have your picture taken with the whole family and take home a special souvenir of your visit. Weekend event.

Icy Bodies
Marvel at this artistic representation of comets in space. Every few minutes, a handful of dry ice chips drops into a shallow pool of dark blue water. The dry ice’s evaporation propels the shards across the water leaving swirling trails of vapor.

Ice Formation
Create different crystal patterns at this fun new exhibit. Place your hand over the ice to melt it, and then remove your hand to refreeze it and create a new pattern. Use polarizing films to change the colors of the crystal patterns.

Glacier Run Ride at Exploration Station
Ride through the glaciers in this motion simulator ride. This nonstop action ride will take you to the freezing landscapes of the Arctic during the Northern Lights.
$6, $5 members.
